XO Man-O-War #16 (Classic Valiant)
A series of mysterious employee disappearances from a subsidiary of his company leads Aric Dacia to investigate, uncovering a crime ring dealing in salvaged alien weapons...
This is a very brief issue. It's story is over before you know it. It's not badly written, but it's a bit of a dull sit, given how underdeveloped the villains are, and how outclassed they are given the protagonist's power. Granted, they put up a decent fight with some weapon strategy, but they have zero personality.
The other characters are dull. Aric is a bland and violent 'hero', while Ken is once again a pretty pointless addition to the story. Finally, guest character Diana has very little to her, failing at even having a decent character arc, given her failure to apprehend her criminal mother.
The art here is good, minus one moment at the end, where a bullet to the head looks like a paintball spatter. The cover is ok, but nothing special.
This is a completely skippable issue of XO Man-O-War. It's not too bad (certainly not as much as previous issues), but not worth your time...
